... Beautify like Beckham Beautify like Beckham

19 July 2007

Seven out of ten men use a cosmetic product intended for women, according to new research by groominglounge.com.

Pirooz Sarshar, co-founder of the company, told News.com the issue was one of the most hotly contested on the website's forums.

"Contrary to what most people think, men use women's beauty products and they like it."

Caroline Donnelly, a Mac cosmetics senior make-up artist from Sunderland, said she saw more and more men are visiting beauty salons and buying makeup.

"Celebrity influences our society so much that with men like David Beckham as role models, it is more accepted men may devote as much care and attention to their appearance as women."

Beckham has been pictured wearing sarongs on the beach while Russell Brand combines rampant heterosexuality with heavy eye makeup.

Stars such as Justin Timberlake have their own makeup artists on hand when they tour.

Earlier this year, Clinique launched a concealer designed specifically for men.
