Bill Roache's girlfriend, 43, says 'He's got this twinkle' as she struggles to keep up with the 79 year-old

Last month Bill admitted he'd slept with around 1,000 women at the height of his fame on Coronation Street. Now his current girlfriend has gone some way to explaining why Bill has been so successful with the opposite sex.
Emma Jesson, a weathergirl on Central TV, and Bill who plays Ken Barlow on the ITV1 soap have been dating for more than a year. They became friends as she mourned her father at the same time as Bill lost his second wife, Sara.
Whilst the Coronation Street star turns 80 later this month his girlfriend Emma, 43, says he runs rings around her. In Piers Morgan's Life Stories, Emma says: 'The first meeting was breath-taking. He’s very charismatic and he’s got this twinkle, everybody’s very drawn to him.
'I don’t know what his secret is but he’s still got the schedule of a 30-year-old... 5.30am starts and 10pm finishes. It’s incredible.'
Whilst Bill's list of conquests included co-star Pat Phoenix, who played Elsie Tanner, he admitted his womanising left him feeling empty and depressed.
'I regret it deeply, I had the opportunity but that doesn’t mean I should do it. I had rehearsals up in Manchester from Monday to Friday. The opportunity was there.’ He said.
'There were plenty of girls around. I shouldn’t have done it. I didn’t have any control over my own sex drive. I didn’t have the strength to control it.'
