British and Irish couples are least romantic about Valentines Day

Irish couples spend just £134 and UK couples only £145 compared with the Spanish figure of £218
The poll by lastminute.com showed that the Spanish, French, Italians and Germans spend much more on Valentines Day rather than the British and Irish couples.
The survey also revealed the following countries who also outspend the UK and Irish.
- French (£208),
- Italians (£176)
- Germans (£153)
The favourite Valentines hotel destination for UK and Irish couples is not surprisingly London, with Edinburgh and Manchester also being favoured.
Perhaps more interestingly, Italians looking for some February romance also find London to be a top hotel spot - to it would appear that the UK does indeed have some international romantic appeal.
