A new survey has revealed the embarrassing result that British holidaymakers are perceived to have the worst beach bodies in Europe.

The poll by travel website lastminute.com found that, perhaps unsurprisingly, the Italian Stallions are top of the hot beach body pile among the men.
Meanwhile, Spanish women were voted the hottest among the women, thanks to their curves and sun-kissed skin.
Unfortunately, Britons as a whole were bottom of the pile, being voted the "least desirable sunbathers".
But Brits did top the poll in other areas – named the rudest, worst dressed and heaviest drinkers.
However, British respondents seem to be very self-aware, with 78 per cent agreeing with the negative votes the nation received.
Jim Bevan, managing director of lastminute.com, said: "Whether these findings are following a myth or a reality, the truth of the matter is that Britons do not allow this to get in the way of a good holiday and should feel as confident on the beach as their European counterparts."
