Couples agonise over baby names

Giving a child the right name can help them get ahead in life, according to British parents.

Mums and dads about to have children spend an estimated 30 million hours choosing children's names each year.
A study by Abbey Banking found around 70 per cent of parents believe the right name opens up opportunities for their children.
One in three believe a good name will give the child confidence, while seven per cent believe it will help them do better in their career.
Traditionally, parents have named their children after their relatives, but that seems to be less popular nowadays, with just 13 per cent of parents now doing so.
Steve Shore, director of Abbey Banking, said: "This research shows the importance people place on choosing the right name for their child.
"It also shows that individuality is obviously key for many celebrities, given some of their name choices, which is ironic when they then want them to fit in!
"There is no doubt that children's names reflect people's aspirations, and parents believe names can affect career prospects. The same is true of choosing a children's bank account. Picking the right bank with a good rate is crucial."
The survey revealed that Grace is currently the number one girls' name, while Jack is most popular for baby boys.
Ruby, Olivia and Emily also proved popular for little girls, while Thomas, Oliver and Joshua were top boys' names.
