First UK dating site for fat people signs up 1,000 people in its first 12 hours

The first online dating agency - www.funpie.co.uk - for those blessed with natural curves has just gone live. This website discriminates against size - you have to be larger than life to join.
Around 1,000 joining applications were submitted within the first 12 hours.
According to the sites guidelines, slim people need not apply. The agency is the latest venture for serial dating entrepreneur Howard James, the creator of The Ugly Bug Ball - the worlds first dating site www.theuglybugball.com for the aesthetically challenged.
Mr James proudly claims “It will offer the UKs estimated 12 million overweight men and women a much-needed service. Dating sites seem to show people who are skinny models but there is a huge proportion of the population that is fabulously flabby."
James continues: "There are precious few resources for them to find love with other overweight people. www.funpie.co.uk is a much-needed service - a fact we’ve seen by the number of applications to date."
Some of the members included are Lisa Lawler a self-confessed PieLover from London and Trevor from Leeds - who is a substantial 28 stone. Miss Lawler said “The site has been a real helping hand for me, I’ve finally been given the chance to embrace my curves and get back on the dating ladder ”.
The site boosts the confidence of its members, allowing those who are plus sized to date without fear of being rejected or ridiculed. They also get a realistic chance of success, given that every member is in the same boat.
