... Football on the brain Football on the brain

29 November 2007

Men are often distracted during intimate time with their partners because they have other things on their minds.

And one of the subjects which stops them keeping their mind on the job is unlikely to please their lovers: football.

A new survey by Setanta Sports, which quizzed men from Edinburgh about their love of sport, revealed that a fifth of men think about football during sex
.

But ten per cent of women were found to have similar subjects going through the head during intimate moments with a partner.

And it is thought that a fifth of men would be unwilling to relinquish watching the game to go on a date.

An alarming four per cent of Edinburgh men also said they would be prepared to miss the birth of their first child to watch an important game, reports the Scotsman.

Geoff Hill, editor in chief of Setantas Sports News, said: "We have really uncovered just how passionate Edinburgh folk are about sport.

"It's clear people spend a great deal of time - and much of that time is in the most personal situations - obsessing about their favourite sports and teams."ADNFCR-1016-ID-18375729-ADNFCR
