... Loved-up couples should jet off to sunnier climes Loved-up couples should jet off to sunnier climes

20 November 2008

Couples should take romantic trips away together to get away from the hustle, bustle and gloom of daily life.

In the UK, the credit crunch is looming, the weather is freezing and John Sergeant is out of Strictly Come Dancing.

But those who have love have something to smile about and should try and get away with their other half to spend time with them, according to an expert.

Paula Hall, relationship psychologist and Relate counsellor, told the Sun that going on romantic breaks can help keep a relationship alive.

Cheryl and Ashley Cole went on mini-breaks to try and revive their love, following his alleged betrayals, while Katie Price and Peter Andre went on a second honeymoon and came back more loved-up than ever.

Ms Hall told the newspaper: "On one hand it means you can spend more time together to talk as a couple, rekindle romance and enjoy each other's company, and on the other it gives you some peace, away from the ringing phone and pinging emails that caused the stress in the first place.

"Leave the DIY and the cleaning chores and spend the time talking, going for walks and getting to know one another again - personally and physically."
