Romantic older couples go on more holidays

Loved-up Britons in their 50s are proving more romantic than their younger counterparts and going on more city breaks, according to new research.

A study by hotel chain Holiday Inn revealed that older couples are spending more and more time away with each other, going on four or more city breaks together a year.
Whether they head to Paris, the City of Love, or wile a way a few days at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, it is clear that loved-up older Britons love spending time away together no matter what the location.
Commenting, Chris Hale of Holiday Inn said: "By 50, most people have paid off their mortgage, their kids have left home and all of a sudden they have enormous freedoms they haven't enjoyed for years.
''While people in their 30s and 40s are tied down with debts and family life, the over-50s are packing their bags and heading off for romantic weekends, with great big grins on their faces."
