Couples taking baby-making holidays
14 November 2007
The latest hot travel trend sweeping the nation is procreation holidays.
|
To escape the pressures of everyday life, couples are hopping on planes and heading abroad for some sun, sea and baby-making.
Procreation vacations began in the US, but the concept is becoming increasingly popular in the UK.
And travel agents are catering to the needs of broody couples by putting together holiday packages in which conception is top of the agenda.
Whether it's a Caribbean break of a cozy weekend away in Scotland, science shows that removing stress can increase chances of becoming pregnant.
Fiona Jeffrey, chair of World Travel Market, is quoted by the Scotsman as saying: "The stresses and strains of a hectic lifestyle, combined with work pressure, mean that people are leaving it longer before they begin thinking of starting families.
"Couples heading off on holiday to try to improve the chance of conceiving are more settled in their careers and generally in a better financial position."
