Online daters 'need better profiles'
23 June 2008
The majority of online daters need to create better profiles in order to attract attention from potential partners, according to experts.
|
According to the founder of Auckland-based Dating Advice, 90 per cent of online daters need better profiles and photos.
Denise Corlett, founder of the dating organisation, said that with online dating increasingly popular, the competition to attract attention is fiercer than ever.
And people need to ensure their profiles are innovative, original and up to scratch.
In an interview with TVNZ's Breakfast show, Corlett said: "There is a lot you can do to keep yourself safe and improve your hit rate.
"What can be really useful is becoming aware of what you need to change in your own profile and trialling the suggested changes. You only get a short time to make an impression.
"Once you have caught someone's eye, you then have to impress with what you say and how you respond, and also keep yourself safe."
