just waiting for life's encore...

It's been a while since I was on a dating site - just had a quick re-read of my profile. It all still applies although I do less of alot of the things I'd like to do more of, since I now have a little one, who I obviously adore.I know it's all about chemistry, but here's a bit about me to get things started..
Things I like: G&Ts, reading, champagne, cinema, theatre, old musicals, Frank Sinatra; coffee & the Sunday papers, struggling with the cryptic crossword, conversation (and being challenged!); hearing Spurs has won; being an auntie; swimming, yoga; London; mountains; the sea and dramatic coastlines; blossom; dancing; my mates & laughing!
Things I don't like: bores and boars, Tories, arrogance, sexism, racism, selfishness, pretence, the noise of other people's ipods (oh, and Arsenal, of course!)
I'm interested in people, in life, in 'things' - and like to talk and exchange ideas and thoughts....from politics and philosophy and the human psyche, to the latest episode of Madmen! I am open-minded, and like to dispute theories and principles - and to be challenged and maybe, once in a while, proved wrong! The last thing I went to see was Fuerza Bruta at the Roundhouse (amazing), and I have just ordered The Long Walk To Freedom, which I should have read many, many years ago.
I appreciate creativity; admire intelligence that manages not to be aloof; wonder at those who seem to have an immense capacity to forgive and understand regardless; love to laugh until it hurts my cheeks; and long to meet someone who I cannot keep my hands off.
I guess I must be quite old fashioned at heart, as my downfall is thinking that life should turn out like a 1950s musical - I'm just waiting for that big finale....ummm, on second thoughts, this last bit doesn't quite fit with life now - to me, my daughter is my big finale. So perhaps I'm just waiting for the encore....?
