Dieting ruins sex drive
20 May 2007
Dieting can reduce a woman's sex drive, according to a new study, which found that 49 per cent women lost their sex drive to some extent following a diet.

A further 48 per cent of women admitted lying to their partner about their weight and 56 per cent admitted to feeling pressure from their partner to lose weight.
Lizzie Kingsley, author of Thin Secrets: How to be slim without dieting, said: "The survey highlights the enormous strain that the battle of the bulge can put on a relationship.
"Some women will embark on a diet to become more sexually appealing so it's ironic that the whole process may act to suppress libido.
On average, British women are said to spend an incredible 31 years of their life on a diet, reports the Daily Mail.
"The reduction in libido is not caused solely by a change in diet. Many things affect libido in women including fatigue, stress and body image issues," reports Lifestyle Extra.
She continued: "This is just another incentive for British women to ditch the diet and find more effective and enjoyable ways to lose weight."
